A Caledonia man is accused of sending a 2-month-old baby to the hospital.
Deputies say 26-year-old Zachary McCaa shook the baby violently, and threw the baby, causing it to strike its head.
Authorities say the infant had stopped breathing.
It was rushed to Strong Hospital and remains in guarded condition.
McCaa is charged with reckless assault of a child and is being held on $25,000 bail.
