The family of a man shot to death by Rochester police last year is suing the city.
The family of Tyshon Jones accuses the city of violating Jones's rights.
In court papers, the family claims police made Jones's mental health crisis worse by shining bright lights at him, and yelling at him through a megaphone.
Jones was fatally shot outside the Open Door Mission in March 2021.
Police bodycam footage showed Jones approaching officers with a knife, prompting an officer to open fire.
