Roughly 8,000 people currently on parole will no longer be supervised by Thursday.
As first reported by Spectrum News, the end of supervision is part of the so-called Less is More law that was approved last year.
Under the law, parolees earn one month of credit for each month without a parole violation. More than 5,400 parolees have already been removed from supervision, and an estimated 8.000 will be removed this week.
The state currently has fewer than 26,000 parolees under supervision -- down from 31,000 last month.
