Critics say convicted cop-killer Jalil Muntaqim shouldn't be getting public funds to speak next month at SUNY Brockport.
The university says he was invited by a faculty member, who was approved for a Promoting Excellence in Diversity grant.
Brockport's Vice President for University Relations has told a Republican assemblyman he believes the fee being paid is $1300.
He is scheduled April 6 to give a talk called "History of Black Resistance, U.S. Political Prisoners & Genocide."
Muntaqim, also known as Anthony Bottom, shot and killed two New York City police officers in 1971 and was paroled in 2020. He lives in Brighton.
The New York State Police Investigators Association says Brockport should rescind the invitation and apologize.
