Anthony Love has been sentenced to 25 years for manslaugter in the death of three-year-old Kei'mere Marshall.
Love was dating the child's mother and had been babysitting him when his mother came home from work and found the child unresponsive. Prosecutors said Love beat the child to death. He was acquitted of a murder charge, but found guilty of manslaughter in January.
Prior to the sentencing, godmother Deaire Phillips said Love took away Ke'Mere's chance to grow up, go to school and see his brother, Blessing, again.
Assistant District Attorney Sarah VanStrydonck called it one of the most traumatic cases ever heard in Rochester's Hall of Justice.
