Republicans in the state Assembly are calling on Governor Hochul to reject lowering the overtime threshold for farmworkers.
Assemblyman Steve Hawley says the move would be devastating to local farms and they just won't be able to keep employees.
He also cites a Farm Credit East report, saying the move would combine with the increase to the minimum wage to hike labor costs by 42-percent.
