Local Covid Case Update

COVID case numbers and infection rates across the state are still falling.

The seven-day average of positive tests has fallen in the Rochester-Finger Lakes region. It was above 12 percent on Thursday, but dropped below 11 percent by Saturday.

The statewide average also fell about a full percentage point, to just under 7 percent.

The number of hospitalized COVID patients in our area dropped to 632 on Saturday. Just over half of those were admitted with COVID complications. The others tested positive while hospitalized for another reason.

New York's mask mandate has been extended through at least February 10th.
