UPDATE: Rochester police have identified 32-year-old Charlotte Thomas of Rochester as the victim. No arrests have been announced yet.

Rochester police say a woman who was shot yesterday on the city's west side has died at the hospital. The shooting happened before 5 p.m. yesterday at the intersection of Lyell Avenue and Child Street. Officers responding to a report that a woman had been hit by a car learned the 32-year-old woman had, in fact, been shot. She is the city's fourth homicide victim this year. Anyone with information is asked to call 911.
