Governor Hochul is taking steps to address the state's bus and truck driver shortage.
Her plan expands the availability of road tests for Commercial Driver License applicants, and reduce the time it takes to get qualified drivers on the road.
She wants to allow qualified third parties to offer the road tests and expand capacity at existing state-run sites.
The State's Department of Motor Vehicles will hold a public hearing on January 26th to hear and review comments on the Governor's plan.
