Police have withheld, for now, the name of the woman who was struck and killed by a drunk driver as she walked across Hudson Avenue, near Wilkins Street.
It happened around 4 yesterday afternoon. The 27-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the hospital. A person walking with her was not hit.
Police say the driver was 51-year-old Lonnie Gandues.
He was treated for minor injuries and has been charged with DWI and vehicular manslaughter
