Greece Police Officers Face Discipline Over Forsythe Crash

Greece, NY -- The special investigator looking into the conduct of other officers after then-Greece Police Chief's Drew Forsythe's October crash is recommending disciplinary action or demotion for seven of ten officers under investigation.

The three others were cleared.

Investigators concluded officers should have had reasonable suspicion to give Forsythe an alcohol test, and information was not reported fully or in a timely way.

Officers who decline the recommended discipline will get formal hearings with a hearing officer appointed by the town board.

Forsythe pleaded guilty Thursday to Driving While Ability Impaired and Leaving the Scene of an Accident. His license will be suspended for 90 days, and he was fined roughly $1,000. He resigned as chief days after the crash.
