Gates police say a bank robbery suspect was arrested quickly yesterday, after he committed the robbery while wearing a parolee's electronic monitoring ankle bracelet.
Gates Chief James VanBrederode says officers arrested 23-year-old Rasaan Taylor of Rochester in a hotel room on Buell Road after tracking his bracelet. Also arrested was 29-year-old Shaunessy Cobb of Rochester. Taylor was on parole for a 2014 homicide in Rochester after serving six years on a manslaughter charge.
Taylor had a 38-caliber pistol and a large quantity of cash when he was arrested. Cobb had a nine millimeter pistol. Both are being held on high bail.
