Three people are facing trespassing charges after a protest about the mask mandate at a Hilton School Board meeting.
The school district says several people attending the meeting Tuesday night refused to follow the mandate.
After being repeatedly asked, all but one of the individuals did put on a mask. The person who refused was asked to leave, and he refused. A sheriff's deputy was called and that person was arrested.
At that point, a group of people at the meeting became disruptive. The meeting was suspended and the room was cleared. Two people were arrested for refusing to leave.
The people charged with trespassing were Hilton residents James Burroughs, Dawn Fox, and Shanierae Iorio.
