Rochester Police Officer on Administrative Duty After DWI Arrest

A Rochester Police officer is accused of driving drunk. According to the Wayne County Sheriff's Office says officers responded to State Route 441 East of Canandaigua Road in the Town of Walworth to find Steven Kovacic, 53, partially blocking the westbound lane of traffic while asleep at the wheel. Kovacic was arrested Monday and charged with DWI, driving to left of pavement markings, and stopping, standing, or parking outside of business or residence districts. Deputies say Kovacic refused to provide a breath sample. Kovacic was processed and released with appearance tickets. He is expected to appear at Walworth Town Court on Oct. 20 at 7 p.m.
