The attorney for Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson has issued a statement saying that Henderson will resign. Attorney Gene Welch says Henderson has concluded it's in the best interests of the sheriff, his family and the employees of Ontario County that he resign his office effective immediately.
Neither the sheriff nor Ontario County officials had any further comment.
A series of subpoenas were issued today (Wed) as voted by a committee on the Ontario County Supervisors last week. That committee is looking into accusations that Henderson made sexually abusive comments in front of staff, and did not discipline his command staff when they made inappropriate comments in front of him.
