Man Convicted on Two Counts of Attempted Murder

The Monroe County District Attorney's Office says a jury has convicted 40-year-old Derrick Peace on two counts of attempted murder, plus assault and weapon possession charges in the shooting of two women a year ago.

Prosecutors say Peace approached the two women as they sat on their front porch in Rochester, shooting both with intent to kill them.

Both women survived

A police investigation led them to Derrick Peace, who was arrested for the attempted murders eight days later.

Both victims are doing well today, but still suffering physical and emotional trauma from the attack.

Peace will be sentenced on October 8th in Monroe County Court.
