Planning Begins on Garden Planted in Memory of Tyshaun Caldwell

Flower City Habitat for Humanity and the Seneca Park Zoo society came together yesterday to begin planing a garden in memory of Tyshaun Caldwell, a 10-year-old who lost his life 20 years ago in Rochester's JOSANA Neighborhood when a drug dealer's stray bullet struck him.

The garden was laid down at the site where Caldwell lost his life due to gun violence. Organizers hope to beautify the memorial site and also forge a symbol for efforts to revitalize the community and make the city safer for its children.

The site will also be used in an educational program for Enrico Fermi School Number 17, where Tyshaun Caldwell was a student. He would have been 30 this year.
