A Monroe County Grand Jury indictment unsealed this afternoon charges Rochester Mayor Lovely Warren and her husband, Timothy Gransion, with criminal possession of a firearm, a class E felony. The mayor and her estranged husband are also charged with two counts of endangering the welfare of a child and two counts of failure to secure firearms Both of those are misdemeanors.
These charges come from the search warrant served two months ago at the mayor's home as part of a larger investigation into a drug distribution ring. Granison was a suspect in that larger investigation, and the home he co-owned with the mayor was searched as a result. A rifle and an unlicensed pistol were found inside the home, where the couple's ten-year-old daughter was left alone.
Both matters went to a grand jury, resulting in the indictments.
