The wave of violent shootings spreading across America this spring has hit Rochester again. Police say a woman in her 30s was shot to death on Garden Street in the Corn Hill Neighborhood this afternoon.
Rochester Police Chief Cynthia Herriott Sullivan says her two children...three and eight years old...were in the car with her when she was killed.
This was Rochester's 30th homicide of the year. Deputy Chief David Smith says police will work through the weekend to develop leads.
Clearly upset, Chief Herriott-Sullivan said she hopes someone will feel the pain of the children in this shooting and come forward with information that solves the case. She said the children will never be able to forget what they saw today.
