A Chili woman is dead following an accident that happened on Monday afternoon.
The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office says 31-year-old Lauren Giardina was the passenger in a vehicle that was rear-ended near the intersection of Union Street and Slate Drive in Chili.
Authorities say following the crash, Giardina was awake and talking at the scene and was taken to the hospital for treatment where she later died.
The sheriff’s office issued a traffic ticket to the driver of the other vehicle for following too closely.
