SUNY Chancellor Jim Malatras says SUNY campuses will be able to open fully in-person in the fall if enough students, faculty and staff get vaccinated.
Malatras said Governor Cuomo’s announcement that anyone 16 or older will be eligible to receive a vaccine Tuesday is a "game-changer." and makes it possible to come back fully in-person.
Malatras said the thirty-six SUNY campuses that serve as vaccination sites will have a built-in infrastructure to vaccinate students, faculty and staff who will become eligible for the vaccine.
Malatras did not say if COVID-19 vaccines would be mandatory for those returning to campuses full-time, in-person in the fall.
