The Commission on Racial and Structural Equity has issued its report on how Rochester and Monroe County can better eliminate structural bias.
Many recommendations focus on revising public sector employment policies, such as raising the minimum wage for county workers to $15 and better marketing civil service careers to minorities.
Other recommendations call for anti racism training for public employees and police; a mandate that Rochester police personnel match the city's demographic percentages, and officers be recertified every few years.
Other proposals call for expanding access to capital for minority entrepreneurs and revising local zoning to embrace inclusionary policies.
