This is body-worn camera footage obtained from the Gates Police Department through a freedom of information request. It shows a domestic upset incident on March 10 at the home of Tyshawn Jones, who was killed hours later after charging with a knife at a Rochester police officer.
The incident shows difficulties in the home and some of the challenges Mr. Jones faced.
Described by investigators looking into his death as a good man who had a clean record -- only one minor traffic issue -- but who had difficulties possibly tied to mental illness. The video may provide a fuller depiction of Mr. Jones' mental state on the day of his death than has previously been publicly available.
