A Canandaigua couple was able to escape a fire early this morning.
Deputies say the blaze broke out just before 3 o'clock on Goodale Road.
72-year-old Christopher Downs had to be rescued from the 2nd floor.
68-year-old Irma Downs was able to get out through a 2nd-story window.
Both were taken to Thompson Hospital, with Cristopher Downs in critical condition after being flown there.
Two firefighters were treated for smoke inhalation and released.
There is no word yet on the cause of the fire.
