Governor Cuomo is giving local health departments in New York State more coronavirus vaccine doses. The extra doses will go to vaccinate people who have two or more underlying medical conditions or diseases. This will start February 15th. Cuomo says those type of people make up 94 percent of coronavirus deaths.
Meanwhile, coronavirus numbers continue the recent trend of heading in the right direction. The statewide daily positivity rate is down to four-point-three percent, the lowest it's been since November 28th. Hospitalizations are down to their lowest level since New Year's Day.
Governor Cuomo also says he is not planning on extending the curfew for bars and restaurants for Super Bowl Sunday. Right now it's 10:00 p.m. but some have been calling for a midnight curfew to help the struggling restaurant industry.
