Another big spike in COVID related deaths in Monroe County.
The health department reports 43 people have died of the virus between January third and tenth.
There are 575 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 since the last update. The 7-day rolling average of new cases at 601 new cases per day.
Monroe County's positivity rate is now down to 8.1%.
Meanwhile. Monroe County officials say they are ramping up their efforts to distribute a COVID-19 vaccine, even though supply has been limited.
County Executive Adam Bello announced that the county is setting up a third vaccine pod which will be at the Rochester Riverside Convention Center and will increase vaccinations by 700 a day.
Bello says the convention center will be operational no later than Monday.
