Governor Cuomo will lay out his agenda for the coming year in his State of the State address today.
The state is facing a $15 billion dollar budget deficit, though the governor has been reluctant to discuss tax increases until he learns whether the state will get a bailout from the federal government.
Cuomo plans to push for legalization of marijuana and legalization of sports betting on mobile devices.
He also wants to expand the state office that addresses domestic violence, and he wants to allow the courts to make abusers pay damages.
And he wants to clear away outdated regulations that have limited the expansion of telehealth services.
