Rochester Fire Department Chief Willie Jackson reportedly has announced his retirement.
He became chief two years ago, succeeding John Schreiber.
He has been with the department for 25 years. His service included three years as deputy chief in charge of the firefighter academy.
Jackson's father was the city's first black firefighter.
