A Rochester native is officially retiring from the National Hockey League.
Former New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning winger Ryan Callahan is calling it a career after 12 NHL seasons.
The 35-year-old was drafted in the 4th round by the Rangers, and eventually became their captain.
Callahan couldn't play last season for the eventual Stanley Cup champion Lightning due to a back injury.
He finishes with 186 goals and 200 assists.
