Monroe County Executive Adam Bello has issued an Emergency Order that puts a cap on the fees third-party food delivery services can charge local restaurants.
Under the Emergency Order, delivery services like GrubHub, DoorDash and UberEats will not be able to charge any restaurant in the County a delivery fee of more than 15% of the purchase price of an order.
Bello says being able to order food for delivery is so important during this pandemic when many restaurants are relying on takeout or delivery to stay open.
He adds that “capping these fees helps safeguard the survival of local restaurants, provides much-needed financial relief and helps our small business owners make ends meet.”
