Health care workers in Monroe County began administering the coronavirus vaccine to nearly 2,000 EMS workers from 19 different agencies around the county. The shots were being given at the Monroe County Fleet Center by health department workers to about 40 EMS personnel.
Emergency Medical Services personnel are the latest group to get the vaccine in a process that will probably take several months. Vaccination of front-line hospital workers began two weeks ago...nursing home staff and residents started last week.
Other emergency workers will rotate through the vaccination center at the Fleet Center as their scheduled time for the vaccination comes.
