Monroe Co. Health Department Shortens Quarantine Period to 10 Days

The Monroe County Health Department is changing its quarantine guidance. The health department says they are shortening how long a person needs to quarantine for after being exposed to COVID-19 -- from 14 days to 10 days. This follows an update from the state.

The update applies only to those who’ve quarantined after being exposed to the virus, not to those isolating after testing positive for COVID-19, or those who have COVID symptoms.

Monroe Co. Health Commissioner Dr. Michael Mendoza says this change will make it easier for people to complete their quarantine and still protect others whom they might have exposed.
