RIT is moving its COVID alert level from yellow to orange.
According to a statement from school officials, there was a continued rise in new cases of the virus over the weekend, causing the elevation of the COVID alert level.
Officials say they are moving several students from a residence hall into quarantine to stem the spread, after a cluster was discovered on campus through the testing of wastewater.
Students will now have to follow several guidelines including wearing masks outdoors at all times when around others, and all non-instructional indoor events/activities are now limited to 10 people.
School officials hope to have students finish out the remaining weeks of the semester on campus, but they say that could change if the numbers continue to go up.
