A Rochester man is dead after his car crashed into a house on North Street early this morning. Police found the car had fallen into the basement of the vacant house. When firefighters managed to get the driver out of the car, they found he'd been shot. The victim was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.
While this was happening, an officer on patrol heard gunshots coming from Central Avenue, and found they'd been fired at Central Avenue and Ormond Street. A 30-year-old city man was dropped off at Strong Hospital suffering from gunshot wounds and was taken into surgery. He's expected to recover.
Police now believe both men were shot while leaving a large party that was taking place inside a warehouse on Central Avenue. Multiple shots were fired at the scene. The circumstances are still under investigation and police are looking for witnesses.
