A Wayne County grand jury has indicted a now-former Wolcott Village police officer for an assault last year.
According to the Times of Wayne County, Zackery Powell was backing up sheriff's deputies at a driveway where they'd followed a woman with a vehicle inspection violation.
There was a confrontation and the woman claimed she was repeatedly punched in the face and knocked to the ground.
Powell claimed the woman tried to hit him, although she denied it.
