Rochester police have driven the Black Lives Matter protesters away from the City Hall entrance on Fitzhugh Street.
A line of about two dozen officers with face shields and batons showed up around 8:30 this morning -- 24 hours after the protesters began occupying the area.
As the line approached, the protesters were warned to disperse or face arrest. They gradually retreated -- allowing City Hall employees to get to work.
Black Lives Matter organizer Ashley Gantt says 20 protesters were arrested this morning when police drove out the protesters occupying the entrances and street outside City Hall. She wants those arrested to be released.
Some protesters remain nearby, and police have set up a barricade. Police also arrested a counter-protester yelling "Blue Lives Matter".
