Rochester Deputy Mayor James Smith's report on the death of Daniel Prude includes an email from Chief Singletary to City Communications Director Justin Roj on April 10, reporting that the Medical Examiner had ruled Prude's death a homicide.
Singletary said in the email that Mayor Warren had been in the loop since the day Prude was restrained, and says the city law department was in the loop, too.
On June 4, the top city lawyer Tim Curtin asked his deputy if the city could delay responding to the Prude family's Freedom of Information request. That seems to contradict prior claims that the state Attorney General's office had asked the city to hold off releasing the information.
