A third person is now facing federal charges after taking part in protest marches in downtown Rochester. Federal prosecutors have charged 32-year-old Bradley Davis of Rochester with civil disorder.
The U.S. Attorney's Office says Davis was among the demonstrators on September 8th who pointed a laser at Rochester Police officers and New York State Troopers. They say Davis was caught on surveillance cameras aiming the laser, which temporarily blinded several of the officers.
Officers approached Davis and told him to stop, but he shouted that he didn't trust police and ran. An officer tackled him on South Fitzhugh Street. The laser was recovered from his pocket. The arresting officer suffered a fractured orbital bone and needed seven stitches to close a laceration to his right eye.
