Former Congressman Chris Collins Asking for Delay to Prison Sentence

Ex-Republican Congressman Chris Collins has asked again for the start of his prison sentence to be delayed.

The former 27th District congressman was ordered in January to spend 26 months behind bars after pleading guilty to federal insider trading charges.

His sentence was supposed to start August 18th, but his attorneys now want it to begin in October.

They're citing the spread of COVID-19 in prisons as the reason for their request.

Collins also wants to serve his sentence in Florida, a few hundred miles from a home he owns there.
