The break-ins and thefts started last week at Holy Sepulchre cemetery on Lake Avenue, and the nearby Riverside Cemetery. Some of the cars were unlocked. In at least one case, the thief smashed a car window to steal a purse inside. Police are stepping up patrols in the area.
