A Gates man was shot early this morning on Lyell Avenue near Glide Street. Rochester police say the 35-year-old victim was shot in the leg, and they applied a tourniquet before he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital. His injuries were serious, but he's said to be recovering. The circumstances of the shooting are still being determined.
