Cuomo says Churches May Reopen

Governor Andrew Cuomo says churches, mosques and temples across the state may reopen at 25 percent of their normal capacity.

Cuomo says New York's health metrics are continuing to be very good, so he's advancing his reopening plan faster than expected.

Cuomo also says New York will adopt police reform legislation when the legislature comes back next week. He says it will be based on the four principals of the "Say Their Name" agenda:

That's transparency in the disciplinary records of accused police officers, banning use of choke holds by police, making it unlawful to make a false 911 call that's racially-based, and naming the State Attorney General as a special prosecutor in the case of police officers accused of brutality.

The governor says there's a window for action right now following the death of George Floyd, and New York will take advantage of it.
