Rochester police are planning for several protest rallies between now and Monday...and they say they're doing their best to keep an open line of communication with the organizations sponsoring the rallies.
Police Chief La'Ron Singletary says communication is key. He says there have been several peaceful protests since Saturday's rally ended in violence, and what makes the difference is police knowing what's happening when. Singletary tells 13 WHAM that means police don't have to go in with their guard up, but instead can stand back and monitor the situation.
Singletary says they don't want to stifle anyone's voice.
