A tractor trailer driver from Erie County is in critical condition following a chain reaction crash on the Thruway in Genesee County.
New York State Police say it happened around 5:30 yesterday afternoon in the eastbound lanes, when state police say Christopher Schultz failed to stop for stopped traffic.
His rig rear-ended another, which was pushed forward into two more tractor trailers. The other three drivers weren't hurt.
The crash caused a fuel spill that was cleaned up by environmental crews.
