The YMCA of Greater Rochester is furloughing more than 2-thousand employees.
According to a notice filed with the state labor department, the YMCA says the furloughs are likely to last more than six months.
And the notice blames the unexpected financial impact of the coronavirus pandemic.
While the YMCA locations have been closed since March, day care centers have remained open at five local branches.
The furloughs include the headquarters, local branches -- and summer camps in the Finger Lakes Region, the Mohawk Valley and the Southern Tier.
