Nursing homes that have been hit by the COVID-19 pandemic can expect some additional federal aid. Senators Chuck Schumer and Kirsten Gillibrand say they've secured more than $394 million for more than 800 nursing homes across the state.
They can use the money to help cover their extra costs in dealing with the coronavirus. Each nursing home gets a basic grant, then additional money based on how many patients they have.
