Gov. Cuomo Addresses Cost to Re-Opening State's Economy

Governor Andrew Cuomo says there's a cost to keeping the state's economy closed, but also a cost in terms of human lives to reopening. He says the seven-point-plan he laid down yesterday spelling out conditions each region of the state must meet to reopen is biased in favor of human lives.

The governor says New York will work with the Gates Foundation to develop a blueprint for re-imagining public education. Cuomo asks why education should be based on students in a classroom when we're seeing what technology can do with distance learning during the coronavirus shutdown.

Cuomo again laid out New York's case for financial aid to states from the Federal Government because of the coronavirus shutdown. He says New York was doing well and didn't want or need any bailout until it had to shut down its economy to fight the pandemic. He said all states need the aid and Republicans who say only Blue States need the aid, are wrong.
