Governor Cuomo says five-thousand independent pharmacies in New York State can now serve as "collection sites" for COVID testing.
While some of those stores are part of larger chains that were already part of the testing system, the new mandate now expands the number of places that were not initially permitted to offer the service.
Cuomo says New York State currently performs about 20-thousand tests per day. He'd like to increase that number to 40-thousand.
