A poll commissioned by the Business Council of New York State shows only 31 percent of CEOs in Upstate New York expect the state economy to return to its pre-virus levels within six months.
Only five percent said their business hadn't suffered because of the virus, and 40 percent have laid off workers.
Fifty-seven percent of the CEOs say New York’s primary focus should be addressing the public health crisis for the time being -- while 35 percent think New York State should plan to relax restrictions and move toward business reopening by May first.
The poll of 307 CEOs was conducted by Siena College.
