Governor Cuomo has signed the executive order allowing the state Department of Health to move unused ventilators to places they may be needed.
The machines, and other medical equipment and supplies, could be taken from upstate hospitals to be used downstate -- where there's a high number of coronavirus cases.
Hospitals will either be reimbursed or have the equipment returned.
The number of New Yorkers sickened by coronavirus is now above 138-thousand, while the death toll is more than 54-hundred.
